Soccer Weekend and Softball Weekend

This weekend Chandra and I had to split up with the kids. She and Calyn drove to Concord, NC to AAU Softball tournament where her team competed in their first 12u softball tournament. There were 29 teams in the tournament. They finished 6th place which was very good for the first tournament in the new older age group. Carson and I went to his soccer game on Saturday morning. Carson played very well and scored 2 goals. There team finished the game with a tie 5 to 5. On Sunday afternoon he had another game that they lost. They are all 8 year olds on his team and most of the other teams are 9 & 10 year olds.

Sickness Hits Early

This school year did not go very far without catching a bug from someone. Calyn came home on Monday complaining with a headache. During the night she got sick on her stomach several times. Chandra ended up spending her night cleaning up after her. I ended up staying at home with her from school on Tuesday. On Wed. she was feeling mostly better so we sent her on to school. Busy day with both of them having practice but hopefully we can get the boat out this weekend and head to the lake.

Soccer Season Begins

Soccer season began today in Kernersville at the Pre-Season Warm Up tournament. The first game carson scored the first goal and we ended up winning 2 - 0. The second game was a different story, the other team were a very skilled and older group. Carson also scored in this game but we lost 6 - 1. The last game Carson also scored and we ended up winning 12 - 1.

Very good start for them to be playing a year early in the 10u division. We will see how the season goes. Carson is always asking coach Ed to have a try at goalie but with his speed he usually has to play the field. This game coach Ed gave him a chance and told him that this was his one and only time to be goalie.

Last Minute Family Fun Day

On Friday the Davis family made a last minute family fun day to the high country. It started out with a stop at the Mast General Store on King street. The kids were able to pick out some candy. Then we stopped by the Daniel Boone Inn for the famous lunch. Boy that fried chicken was delicious.

After lunch we headed to the Shops at the Parkway for a little shopping. We stopped briefly on the parkway for a afternoon snack to eat a leftover ham biscuits from Daniel Boone Innn & peanut butter chocalate moonepies and NeHi Orange cream soda from the bottle before returning home for Nicole Scott's birthday party. Happy birthday Nicole!!!!

2009 NSA World Series / Chattanooga Trip

This is for you aunt Jess!! We may need a mentor to help us walk through this.

Calyn played in the "A" class NSA World Series in Chattanooga Tenn. We left on Saturday the 18th and headed out with the entire family and the trailer. On Saturday we finally arrived to our cabin that we had rented for the week on Lookout Mountain. On Sunday the team had the opening ceremonies for all the teams.

On Monday they had two pool games. They won both of them and earned a #1 seat in the bracket play and had a day off on Tuesday. On our day off we visited a place called Rock City on Lookout Mountain.

On Wednesday Calyn started their bracket play and was able to win both games. On Thursday morning they lost a close game with the eventual champions of the tournament with a 2 to 1 loss. This took them into the losers bracket and was able to win two more games on Thursday and took them to the championship game of the losers bracket to earn the right to play in the championship game. The game was on Friday morning at Frost Stadium where University of Tennessee of Chattanooga plays softball. We lost this game and finished 3rd place.

Way to go Calyn "KK" We are proud of you!!!!!

Lookout mountain was beautiful!!! Between wathching hang gliders jumping off the mountain to watching the sunset over the horizon. We even went out one afternoon to do a little photo shooting at the edge of the mountain overlooking the valley.
